We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join an industry leading organisation and the world’s largest Caterpillar dealership at our Flagship workshop based in Cannock. Within this role you will play an active role in the welding operations to ensure all work is completed to achieve the agreed service delivery date and at the quoted costs.

Duties:
- Providing support in welding and material investigations
- Following standard operating procedures in the safe set up and operation of welding equipment
- Visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards / project requirements
- Providing support in qualification / substantiation of Weld pieces
- Carrying out daily equipment checks, ensuring that any faults are reported immediately
- Following basic technical drawings to complete work within specification
About you:
- Experienced Welder
- Mig welder with a strong welding & fabrication background (Apprentice trained C&G / NVQ would be beneficial)
- Proficient in MIG welding (TIG would be of benefit)
- Proficient working on mild steel
- Familiar welding heavy plate and structural steel
- Have an understanding of weld defects and causes
- Experience using hand tools and preheating equipment
- Able to set up welding machinery, power settings etc
- Able to read and follow technical drawings
- Able to work as a part of a team, or individually
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Fabrication experience would be an advantage
