This is a paid internship, from July to the end of September, offering students the opportunity to gain valuable real‑world experience while being paid at the national minimum wage for their age group.

The Customer Service Internship is ideal for students who want to develop their communication, teamwork, and business skills. You will be the first point of contact for customers, supporting enquiries, learning how to deliver excellent service, and gaining exposure to sales and digital customer channels. With full training provided, this role offers a great opportunity to build confidence, develop transferable skills, and gain valuable insight into customer service, operations, and the engineering industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and friendly first point of contact, supporting customers via phone and email
  • Listen to customer needs and direct queries to the appropriate team or advisor
  • Deliver a positive customer experience on every interaction
  • Accurately record customer information and updates in internal systems
  • Support the team in meeting service‑level targets (e.g. timely call and email handling)
  • Promote digital tools and services to help customers access information quickly
  • Identify opportunities to highlight Finning parts and services where appropriate
  • Assist with general administrative tasks and team activities
  • Take part in training to build product, system, and customer service knowledge

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Currently studying or recently completed A‑Levels, college, or a degree
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with people
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Good attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in customer service, business, or engineering (desirable, not essential)
  • Previous customer‑facing experience is beneficial but not required
