If you’re driven by sales growth and passionate about building strong customer relationships, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. In this role, you’ll lead the charge in expanding Finning’s rental presence by strengthening engagement with existing customers, growing their use of our rental solutions, and bringing new customers into the business.

Working closely with our Equipment and Product Support sales teams, you’ll maximise opportunities within established accounts while proactively developing new partnerships with organisations seeking Caterpillar heavy equipment rental.

Major Job Functions

  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan.
  • Generate high-quality opportunities through face-to-face engagement across the UK.
  • Grow existing customer accounts and secure new long-term rental customers.
  • Build sustainable revenue growth through strong customer relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with Finning Account Managers to support rental diversification within their customer base.
  • Participate in regional sales activities and provide simple tools/insights to support rental growth.
  • Own receivables and billing dispute resolution, ensuring payments are collected within terms while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Build effective working relationships with Rental Office Support, Finance, and wider business teams to ensure high-quality rental service delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience in plant or heavy equipment rental sales, ideally 5+ years.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and business development targets.
  • Strong ability to identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across varied customer types.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, including engagement at senior stakeholder level.
  • Strong commercial acumen with confidence in negotiating contracts, pricing, and rental terms.
  • Ability to analyse customer needs and recommend tailored rental solutions.
  • Understanding of rental market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • Knowledge of operational environments such as earthmoving, quarry, and waste sectors.
  • Technical understanding of Caterpillar equipment (desirable but not essential).
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, including delivering compelling sales propositions.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field (desirable).
