Finning (UK) Ltd – Permanent – 1 opening. This role is based at our National Distribution Centre in Cannock.
As a Stock Control Manager, you will conduct safe and accurate physical and systemic receiving, storage, picking, counting, packing and distribution of stock for Finning UK. You will be accountable for the customer‑facing Parts Counter, ensuring on‑time, full order fulfilment and assisting the operation in meeting KPIs/SLA.
Major Job Functions
- Safety Leadership – 20% – Ensure full compliance with health & safety, statutory inspections, and liaise with the compliance team.
- People Leadership – 20% – Motivate personnel, maintain skills and knowledge, drive cost and service improvement, and foster teamwork.
- Process Leadership – 60% – Achieve contract targets and KPIs, prepare stock control performance reports, maintain documentation, manage stock variance targets, conduct PI program annually, maintain deep knowledge of system modules, advise on issues, train staff, use WMS, generate data on inventory accuracy, obsolescence and EBITDA impact.
Specific Skills
- Accurate, precise, and detail‑oriented.
- High proficiency in business applications – Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint.
- Strong experience with supply‑chain and customer‑support software.
- Accountability – own and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Communication – develop relationships with key contacts within the Finning group.
Knowledge
- End‑to‑end supply‑chain management, distribution and logistics.
- Warehousing best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- IT business systems support for supply chain.
- Site classification and audit requirements.
- Knowledge of CAT products and systems (desirable).
Stock Inventory Management Responsibilities
- Manage and control perpetual inventory, stock counting & accuracy checks.
- Plan and conduct stock takes.
- Investigate, correct and report stock discrepancies and adjust data.
- Implement control measures and ensure accurate reporting.
Education & Experience
- Vocational training in stock control.
- Management training.
- Formal audit training.
- Experience with WMS and implementations.
- Experience in stock operations within logistics industry.
- Demonstrable experience driving best practice for stock management.
