This field-based role involves providing preventative maintenance and servicing for heavy mobile plant and power generation equipment, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.

Work Details

  • Full driving licence required for 2 years and DVLA licence check.
  • Working hours: 43 hours per week (flexible start and finish). Monday–Friday schedule with 1 Saturday working every 3 weeks at overtime rate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance Servicing (75%): Conduct routine servicing of equipment following manufacturer guidelines, including oil sampling.
  • Machine Inspection (20%): Carry out visual/mechanical analysis of machine condition, identify developing issues in hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, and mechanical systems.
  • Minor Repairs (5%): Perform minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematics systems, and conduct undercarriage inspections.

Qualifications

  • Education: Formal apprenticeship qualification with at least C&G Level 1 or an equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a related engineering function (e.g., car mechanic, HGV fitter, agricultural engineer, REME, or military vehicle mechanic). Experience with heavy mobile plant or heavy goods vehicle servicing is desirable.
  • Training: Formal health & safety training desirable but not essential; training will be provided onsite.
