Murray Cable is part of Finning (UK) Ltd, the UK and Ireland dealer for Cat machines, engines, equipment, and power solutions.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: £20.21 per hour (basic)

Working Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Major Job Functions:

  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical distribution systems and related equipment/lighting systems
  • Inspect and test electrical components such as transformers, transfer switches, and switchgear
  • Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals to complete projects
  • Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools; terminate power/control/monitoring wiring

Specific Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills

Knowledge:

Deep understanding and extensive experience in electrical systems and components

Accountability:

Work on industrial and commercial projects, adhering to BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations, national electrical codes, and NICEIC requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • CSCS Electrician grade or JIB card
  • NVQ Level 3
  • Test & inspection certification (2394/2395 or 2391)
  • Full UK driver’s license
  • Experience with fire alarm installation
  • Containment installation experience (ladder, tray, basket, galvanised conduit)

Desirable:

  • Confined space, PASMA, MEWPs/IPAF, first aid, ContainEx, and SMSTS/SSSTS qualifications
