The Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that manufacturing processes within the Production environment run smoothly, meeting business targets within company budgets so that Operations deliver products on time, in full, to the required quality. Previous experience working in a similar role is essential to be successful.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Order Fulfilment: ensuring that all customer orders are delivered on time and in full
- Staffing: managing Production Supervisors, driving improvements in capabilities and labour costs
- Quality: ensuring quality is to the agreed standards and complaints targets are met
- Lean Manufacturing: Identifying and running Continuous Improvement Projects in order to improve process, drive efficiencies and lower business costs.
- Liaison with Engineering: maintenance – Planned / Routine / Non‑Routine / Breakdowns
- Communication & Reporting: flow of accurate information upwards & downwards and across departments
- Traceability: contributing to effective traceability by ensuring production records completed
- Audit Compliant: Audit ready at all times
- Experience in production management within Operations or related field.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate an ever‑expanding team
- Experience with stringent hygiene and technical requirements
- Experience delivering to major retail customers’ requirements
- Demonstrated cost management and KPI achievement in waste and labour targets
- Strong problem‑solving skills are essential. An operations manager must be able to identify issues, analyse data, and devise practical solutions quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills, including the ability to recognise training and development needs
- Experience in managing projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and completion.
- Proven ability to provide solutions and deliver results while working independently and on own initiative
- Able to work flexibly to ensure business needs are met
Hours of Work
Sunday to Thursday 5pm to 3‑4am
