  • We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced

Accounting Supervisor who enjoys leading people, improving processes, and keeping financial operations running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Accounting Supervisor, you'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations while providing leadership and support to your team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and support an accounting team, including workload planning, performance management, employee development, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Oversee core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), cash receipts, month-end and year-end activities, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Review financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, corporate policies, accounting standards, and internal procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders, vendors, auditors, and external partners while building strong working relationships.
  • Serve as the primary resource for the SAP Controlling (CO) module, including user support, testing, security access, upgrades, and continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, operational initiatives, and ongoing process improvements.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings a combination of technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum

5 years of progressive accounting experience .

  • At least

3 years of supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience .

  • Strong hands-on experience with

Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and core accounting functions .

  • Experience with month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Working knowledge of GST/HST/QST, accounting principles, and financial best practices.
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.

CPA designation is considered an asset but is not required.

  • Ontario and Québec . The successful candidate will need to communicate effectively in

English and French , both verbally and in writing, to support day-to-day business operations.
