FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure sectors for an experienced Wastewater Design Civil Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a growing Engineering team delivering essential infrastructure services. The successful candidate will be part of the design team responsible for the investigation and detailed design of wastewater and clean water network projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities of the Wastewater Design Civil Engineer:

  • Deliver civil engineering designs for wastewater projects in line with client specifications and industry standards
  • Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, design calculations, drawings and project documentation
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and inspections to inform and validate design solutions
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure accurate design inputs are gathered
  • Work with minimal supervision while also reviewing and checking the work of others
  • Support and mentor junior members of the engineering team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrity and efficiency of design solutions
  • Engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and third parties throughout project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, Health & Safety, and environmental standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and best practice across wastewater network projects
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets

Required Skills and Experience of the Wastewater Design Civil Engineer:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in wastewater or water infrastructure design
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles within the utilities sector
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Competent with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
