Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the utilities sector for Trainee Water Efficiency Technicians. This role is based in the West Yorkshire area. No prior water experience is necessary – full training, equipment, and a company vehicle will be provided.

The Role:

  • The successful candidate will be provided with a company van and will deliver water‑efficiency consultations across a variety of homes and businesses throughout West Yorkshire
  • All customer appointments are scheduled in advance, enabling you to concentrate fully on delivering an excellent service
  • The role includes carrying out free water‑efficiency visits to households, helping customers reduce water consumption, cut carbon emissions, and lower their bills
  • You’ll assess in‑home fixtures such as taps, toilets, and showers, including measuring tap and shower flow rates using specialist tools
  • At the end of each visit, you’ll share the results, insights, and tailored water‑saving recommendations with the customer, based on data captured in the app
  • Comprehensive training is provided. You’ll initially shadow an experienced team member, and once confident, you’ll begin conducting visits independently

Trainee Water Efficiency Technician Responsibilities:

  • Visiting domestic properties, liaising with homeowners and occupants
  • Discussing water efficiency and the drivers behind it
  • Providing water saving guidance and behavioural change advice
  • Fitting the recommended water saving gadgets
  • Ensuring highest of customer care standards are met
  • Accurately record information using a bespoke mobile application
  • Assist Project Manager and planning team to deliver excellent customer service

Trainee Water Efficiency Technician requirements:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good time keeping, reliable and hard working
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions
  • A Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be located within West Yorkshire

Qualifications:

  • Educational: GCSEs including Maths and English
  • Full UK driving licence: essential (a company vehicle will be provided)
