We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join our clients team in Rochdale. This is a hands-on role within a busy heavy/medium engineering environment, responsible for ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
The role involves varied engineering tasks including routine servicing, breakdown response, fabrication, and project work all carried out in compliance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and inspection on production machinery, mechanical systems, and equipment.
- Use preventative maintenance systems (PPMs) to reduce breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
- Support and lead repairs on gearboxes, motors, pulleys, couplings, fans, pumps, mixers, bearings, rollers, etc.
- Perform essential legislative testing of mechanical equipment.
