FJA are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established Manufacturing Company based in the Rochdale area for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. The role will be a Group position, the successful candidate will therefore be covering multiple sites in the Rochdale area.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

  • To carry out routine test and inspection on electrical systems and portable electrical equipment
  • To work safely within the company’s Health and Safety Procedures.
  • To work within the requirements and BS 7671 (Electrical Regulations)
  • To reduce costs where possible and use the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance
  • Assisting the maintenance manager with projects and developments
  • To maintain maintenance activities in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards
  • Assisting the Engineering Manager with ongoing/new projects
  • Approximately 30% of this role will be mechanical and a flexible approach to overtime and shutdown work is required
  • To have a flexible approach towards overtime, shutdown working and call-out cover as required
  • Filling out reports and completing PPM schedules
  • To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels

The successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer will have:

  • Own transport and hand tools
  • City and Guilds qualified
  • CompEx
  • A working knowledge of A.C and D.C. drives would be preferred as would the ability to work on P.L.C systems
  • Experience of ATEX equipment an advantage
  • Electrical wiring regulations 18th Edition
  • IPAF trained
  • City and Guild 2391 testing
  • Some mechanical experience

Experience in the following is desired:

  • Installation work
  • PLC programming/fault finding
  • Fixed wire testing
  • Panel building
