FJA is working with a large water utilities company that is recruiting experienced Leakage Technicians to support nationwide day‑to‑day leak detection activities.
Responsibilities
- Proficient use of leakage detection equipment, including a Correlator, Pipe Tracer, Ground Microphone and Listening Stick.
- Experience with Step Testing, Trunk Mains, Validation and Seepage is desirable but not essential.
- Undertake survey or project work not normally associated with day‑to‑day leak detection.
- Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection support.
- Conduct a detailed survey to identify the type and location of water leakage on large‑diameter pipes.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately (time sheets, survey forms, leak details, etc.).
- Perform Step Tests to identify high leakage within a water distribution network and establish zones of DMAs where water can be supplied through a single meter.
- Carry out tests at night, when consumption is lowest and most stable, to minimise disruption to consumers.
- Hold a current certification such as EUSR Water Hygiene Training or Unit 2 Street Works (advantageous but not essential).
Leaders must hold a full and valid driving licence for the role.
