Finlay Jude Associates is supporting a key client in the water sector to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to strengthen their planning function. This role combines hands-on project planning responsibilities with the leadership of a local planning team. The successful candidate will take ownership of one or more project programmes, ensuring delivery in line with agreed schedules while proactively managing delays, risks, and deviations. You will also play a key role in embedding best-practice planning processes across the wider function. In addition to programme ownership, you will mentor and support junior planners, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. The role reports functionally to the Head of Planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes across the full project lifecycle
- Ensure plans accurately reflect scope, resource requirements, and key dependencies
- Identify risks and opportunities, monitor the critical path, and advise delivery teams on impacts and mitigation strategies
- Maintain high planning standards and ensure compliance with internal procedures, including:
- Implementation of project and activity coding structures
- Baseline development and management
- Production of programme narratives for client submission
- Regular schedule quality and integrity reviews
