Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business in the Whitworth area. Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to work with the Production Manager to provide assistance to all employees including shop floor and offices as required. This will initially be a temporary position with a view to becoming permanent, following a successful probation period.

Package and benefits:

  • Salary £14 per hour with regular overtime available
  • 37 hours p/w Monday-Friday (7.30am-4pm Monday-Thursday and 7am-12pm on Friday)
  • Onsite parking
  • Full UK Driving licence required
  • Forklift truck training with a view to qualifying for a full licence within the first 12 months

Role and duties:

  • To provide assistance to all employees including the shop floor and offices as requested by management.
  • To assist the welders when the purging of welds is required.
  • To use industrial saws and drills for pre-component assemblies.
  • To assist in the stores as required, e.g. off-loading and racking of materials.
  • To carry out various deliveries and collections using the company vehicles.
  • To assist with customer trials in our innovation centre and cleaning/jet washing afterwards.
  • To carry out bead blasting of fabrications as requested by management.
  • To keep garden areas, car parks, and land areas maintained.
  • Cleaning of company vehicles as and when available.
  • General site maintenance - painting, building work etc.
  • To ensure all health and safety systems are adhered to and any issued PPE is worn as required.
  • To qualify for a Forklift Truck licence during the first 12 months.
  • To maintain clean, tidy, and safe working areas across the whole site and yards.
  • Any other duties as requested by management.

Required experience:

  • Experience in a previous manual/labourer role would be beneficial.
  • Able to carry out physical/manual work.
  • Full UK driving licence.
