FJA are recruiting on behalf of Heywood Cricket Club for an experienced and motivated Club Manager to oversee the day to day operations of this well established and thriving community sports club. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience managing a licensed venue, sports club, hospitality business or similar environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the clubhouse and bar, managing staff, increasing commercial opportunities and delivering an outstanding experience for members, visitors and guests. The role is varied, hands on and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on the future growth and success of the club.

- Oversee the day to day management of the clubhouse, bar and facilities.
- Ensure the club operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with all Health & Safety and licensing legislation.
- Act as the main point of contact for members, visitors, suppliers, sponsors and external organisations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming environment for members and guests.
- Manage all aspects of the licensed bar, including stock control, ordering, cellar management and supplier relationships.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, reconciliation of tills and operation of POS systems.
- Work alongside the Treasurer to support financial reporting and stock management.
- Recruit, train, supervise and develop bar staff, ensuring high standards of performance and customer service.
- Manage enquiries and bookings for weddings, private functions, celebrations, funerals, corporate events and community activities.
- Coordinate events from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
- Organise entertainment, performers and external suppliers where required.
- Develop and promote club events to maximise attendance and revenue.
- Identify opportunities to increase income through sponsorship, venue hire, fundraising initiatives and advertising opportunities.
- Manage and develop the club's social media platforms and promotional campaigns.
- Prepare and monitor operational budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Arrange routine maintenance, repairs and servicing of the clubhouse and facilities.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all Health & Safety records remain up to date.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Maintain strong working relationships with committee members, suppliers, sponsors, members and the wider community.
- Respond proactively to operational issues and ensure the smooth running of the club at all times.
- Previous management experience within a sports club, licensed venue, hospitality or leisure environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Commercial awareness with experience of increasing revenue and developing business opportunities.
- Experience managing stock control, supplier relationships and budgets.
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and licensing legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
