FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the wastewater industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their team.

Exeter, hybrid working available.

Quantity Surveyor Role

You will report directly to the Managing QS and will be responsible for managing several key accounts on a large project or overseeing the overall financial control of smaller projects.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Prepare applications, valuations, and cost value reconciliations.
  • Manage cost control and forecasting, providing information for monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow.
  • Oversee supply chain management.
  • Support Risk and Value Management to optimise solutions, mentoring and regularly reviewing with the project team.
  • Manage contracts, including all relevant contractual forms, budgetary control methods, and software applications.
  • Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms, and establish contracts.
  • Ensure all notifications and documents are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Identify and report safety risks to site management promptly.
  • Maintain ongoing liaison with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Provide contractual advice to the site team as required.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • ARICS or studying for APC
  • Experience working with a main contractor

Desirable

  • Experience working within Water
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
