Overview
The Construction Manager will support projects within the Thames Water region, working from London and Guildford locations with potential hybrid working available. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role in the delivery of major water infrastructure projects, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and commercial objectives.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant delivery of construction activities across a portfolio of projects. The role will focus on health, safety, environmental and sustainability management, while leading site teams and supply chain partners to ensure construction activities meet project deliverables, programme requirements, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site construction teams across designated project portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets and agreed timescales.
- Facilitate construction project kick-off meetings and lead regular project health checks to ensure delivery performance.
- Manage the performance of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring standards relating to safety, programme, and quality are consistently achieved.
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they are suitable and compliant with project requirements.
- Lead Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals, and Fit for Assembly sign-off processes to promote efficiency, innovation, and improved delivery performance.
- Promote sustainability by driving initiatives focused on zero waste and reducing embodied carbon across construction activities.
- Ensure site teams raise relevant contractual and commercial notices in a timely manner to support effective project management.
- Work closely with the Lead Construction Manager to plan and coordinate short-term and long-term resource requirements, including labour, plant, and materials.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
