Senior EICA Engineer / EICA Engineer
Location: Hattersley, Greater Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

The Role
Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation delivering major projects across the UK water sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Senior EICA Engineer / EICA Engineer to join their Engineering Design team.
Reporting to the Regional Design Lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) design solutions across a range of water and wastewater projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure designs are compliant, cost-effective and deliverable.
Hybrid working is available, with regular site visits required.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce EICA designs that meet project specifications and client requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs are practical, economical and suitable for construction and commissioning.
- Support tender and proposal activities through technical input and cost estimates.
- Coordinate design activities with internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
Develop and review EICA deliverables including:
- Load Schedules
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs)
- Instrument Indexes
- Technical Specifications
- Scope Documents
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and industry regulations.
- Promote health, safety, environmental and sustainability best practices.
- Support continuous improvement across engineering and design activities.
About You
Essential
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or Automation Engineering.
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution.
- Experience producing EICA design deliverables within engineering, utilities, infrastructure or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of plant design principles and efficient plant layouts.
Experience developing:
- Load Schedules
- SLDs
- BCDs
- Instrument Indexes
- Scoping and Technical Specifications
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Good level of IT literacy.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Water or wastewater industry experience.
- Understanding of water and sewage treatment processes.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
- Relevant Engineering Master's Degree.
