Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business in the Whitworth area. Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Semi-skilled Labourer to work with the Production Manager to provide assistance to all employees including shop floor and offices as required.
This will initially be a temporary position with a view to becoming permanent, following a successful probation period.
Package and benefits in the role of Semi-skilled Labourer:
- Salary £14 per hour with regular overtime available (salary increases available as the role develops)
- 37 hours p/w Monday - Friday (7.30am - 4pm Monday - Thursday and 7am - 12pm on Friday)
- Onsite parking - you must have a full UK Driving licence
- Forklift truck training - with a view to qualifying for a full licence within the first 12 months

Semi-skilled Labourer role and duties:
- To provide assistance to all employees including the shop floor and offices as requested by management.
- To assist the welders
- To use industrial saws and drills as required
- To assist in the stores as required, off-loading and racking of materials.
- To carry out various deliveries and collections using the company vehicles - a full UK driving licence is essential
- To assist with customer trials in our innovation centre + cleaning / jet washing after
- To carry out bead blasting of fabrications as requested by management (cover for absence)
- To keep garden areas and car park maintained
- Cleaning of company vehicles as and when required
- General site maintenance- painting, building work etc
- To ensure all health and safety systems are adhered to and any issued PPE is worn as and when required.
- To qualify for a Forklift Truck licence during the 1st 12 months
- To maintain clean, tidy and safe working areas across the whole site and yards
- Any other duties as requested by management
Required experience for the Semi-skilled Labourer:
- Experience in a previous manual / labourer role would be beneficial
- Able to carry out physical / manual work
- Full UK driving licence
