The Role

We’re looking for a SENCO to lead and champion inclusive practice across the nursery. You’ll be:

  • Hands‑on with children
  • Supporting and coaching your team
  • Making a real, visible difference every single day

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading SEND provision across the nursery
  • Supporting children with additional needs to thrive
  • Coaching practitioners on inclusive practice
  • Building strong relationships with families
  • Working with external professionals (health visitors, local authority, specialists)
  • Managing support plans, observations, and next steps
  • Keeping documentation accurate and compliant

The Perfect Candidate

Qualifications and experience:

  • Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification
  • SENCO qualification (desired or willing to undertake training)
  • Strong understanding of EYFS & SEND & Local Authority
  • Good organisational skills and time management

What Your Day Might Look Like

  • 7:50am – Arrive, coffee, team catch‑up
  • 8:30am – Support children and check in on key needs
  • 9:30am – Observe, assess, guide staff
  • 10:30am – Parent meeting
  • 11:30am – Update plans and records
  • 12:00pm – Lunch
  • 12:30pm – Liaise with professionals / referrals
  • 1:30pm – Support practice in rooms
  • 3:00pm – Review progress and next steps and IEPs
  • 4:30pm – Team check‑in
  • 6:00pm – Head home!
