Audience Acquisition Manager

Audience Acquisition Manager

Full-Time On-site
Finimize

Finimize helps millions of people get smarter about money – through our app, newsletters, events, and the content we make with some of the biggest names in finance. Over a million people read us every week. Some of the best moments we create, though, happen in a room: our analysts and guests on a stage, and a few hundred – soon a few thousand – investors in front of them.

Your job is to fill those rooms. Next year that's 150 people in San Francisco, 2,000 retail investors in New York over the summer, a 1,000-person summit in London in the autumn, and a run of smaller activations around them. It's a job with a scoreboard: tickets sold, against a target, by a date that doesn't move.

Those three are deliberately different problems. The 150 in San Francisco is a curated room – a target list, personal invites, partners bringing their people. New York is the opposite: a proper campaign, at volume, across every channel we've got. London sits somewhere in between. You'll need both gears.

Running underneath all of it is our audience – over a million newsletter readers, plus the app and our social channels. Growing and segmenting that is the other half of your job, and the two aren't separate: a bigger, better-engaged list is how every one of these rooms gets filled without buying every seat.

This is an early-career role. We don't expect you to have filled a 2,000-person venue before – we expect you to have sold something to somebody, whether that's tickets, sign-ups or memberships, and to want to do it at a scale that's genuinely hard.

Key responsibilities

  • Sell the tickets. You'll own the plan to reach our attendance targets: who we're going after, which channels reach them, what the pricing and early-bird structure looks like in practice, when to push, and when to panic. You'll have a real paid budget behind you for the bigger rooms – New York won't fill on email alone. You'll work with our Head of Events on what the event is, and you'll be the person responsible for who's in the room.
  • Stay on it all the way to the door. Selling the ticket is the start, not the end – the number that counts is how many people are actually in the room. Our CRM Specialist builds and runs the sequences, so you won't be doing all of it yourself. What's on you is knowing where people are dropping off, briefing the comms that fix it, and keeping a hand on waitlists, guest lists and the final-fortnight push.
  • Find the audiences we don't already have. The cheapest ticket sales come from someone else's audience, and for New York we'll need plenty of them. Newsletter swaps, finance creators, brokerages and fintech partners, investing communities, meet‑up groups, other events – in the US as much as the UK. You'll go find them, pitch them, negotiate what we give and what we get, and run them. The same partnerships grow our free audience, which is rather the point.
  • Know what's actually working. Nobody's going to hand you a dashboard. You'll build your own view of tickets sold by channel, cost per ticket, registration‑to‑attendance rate and what each event actually cost us to fill – and you'll say plainly when something isn't earning its keep.

What does that look like practically?

  • Ticket campaigns. A plan per event: audience targeting, pricing and early‑bird deadlines, promo codes, group and corporate blocks, launch pushes, the final‑fortnight sprint.
  • Curated invites for the smaller rooms. Building a target list for events where who's there matters more than how many, and doing the personal outreach to land them – including VIP and sponsor guests.
  • Email and CRM. Shaping and briefing the invites, reminders and segments with our CRM Manager. A lot of this job is knowing which slice of the list should hear what, and when – and making the case for a send rather than assuming you get one, because plenty of other things are competing for the same inbox.
  • Registration and attendance. Keeping an eye on the funnel from invite to arrival – RSVPs, drop‑off, no‑shows – and reporting honestly on what happened afterwards. That’s how we learn and improve together.
  • Partnerships and cross‑promotion. Sourcing and running partner deals that put our events in front of new audiences – and bring new subscribers back with them.
  • Paid acquisition. We spend meaningfully on Meta already, and event campaigns will get their own budget on top. You'll set the direction – geo‑targeting, audiences, offers, when to spend and when to stop – working with our paid media contractor on execution and our Brand Lead on creative. Cost per ticket sold is the number you'll live by.
  • Organic social, SEO and the site. Working with our Social Producer and editorial team to turn our content into reach, and our reach into sign‑ups.
  • Copywriting. You'll write a lot of what goes out: invites, subject lines, landing pages, ads, partner pitches. It needs to sound like us.
  • On the ground. You'll be at the events – San Francisco, New York, London – making sure the experience matches what you sold, and gathering what you need for next time.
  • Working with AI. Use generative and AI‑assisted tools to research, draft, analyse and ship faster – while keeping the judgement and the brand voice firmly human.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • 1-3 years in events marketing, delegate or ticket acquisition, audience growth, CRM or a similar role.
  • You've filled something before. A conference, a meetup, a club night, a webinar series, a society event at uni – scale matters less than the fact you owned the number and hit it.
  • Comfortable working both ends of the scale: a campaign that has to reach thousands, and a personal email to one person you really want in the room.
  • Comfortable with paid social. You don't have to be a media buyer – we have one – but you need to read a dashboard, brief creative that works, and spot a campaign that's quietly wasting money.
  • Comfortable in email and CRM. You'll have our CRM Specialist working alongside you, but you should be able to think in segments and sequences, and read what the numbers after a send are telling you.
  • You can write. Invites, subject lines, landing pages, pitches – short, clear, no jargon, occasionally funny.
  • Organised to a fault. Multiple events, fixed dates, long checklists, and no tolerance for a dropped detail.
  • Numerate and honest with data. Comfortable in a spreadsheet, able to work out what a channel costs us per ticket, and willing to say when something isn't working.
  • Confident dealing with people – partners, sponsors, attendees, the occasional irate ticket-holder.
  • Curious about money and markets – or at least willing to become so. You don't need to know what a yield curve is on day one, but you'll need to want to find out.
  • Happy to travel for events – expect a couple of US trips a year alongside the UK dates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with event and registration platforms (Eventbrite, Luma, Hopin, Cvent or similar).
  • Hands‑on paid social, especially Meta, including creative testing.
  • Newsletter growth tactics: cross‑promos, referral programmes, co‑registration.
  • Familiarity with Sailthru, HubSpot, Webflow, Mixpanel or similar.
  • Familiarity with updating a CMS for a website
  • Community building – Discord, Slack, meetups, ambassador programmes.
  • Experience marketing to a US audience, or running events there.
  • Hands‑on use of AI tools in a marketing workflow, and a view on where they help and where they don't.

You don't need to tick every box. If you've filled a room and can tell us how, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll get

  • Salary: £30,000–£36,000, depending on experience, and a generous equity package.
  • 33 days annual holiday (25 days plus UK bank holidays).
  • Hybrid working from our London office, with real flexibility around when and how you work.
  • Scope, early. A channel mix, a budget and a set of targets of your own, reporting directly to our CPO and working closely with our Head of Events. At most companies this is a few years further up the ladder.
  • A learning budget for courses, books, tools or conferences.
  • Full perks package – virtual GP, gym and retail discounts, salary sacrifice schemes for vehicles, bikes, childcare, elderly care, and more.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • A team that takes the work seriously and itself less so.
