Fingleton White provide multi‑discipline engineering services for the energy industry. We provide a full range of design, construction and commissioning services and are active across many sectors including Renewables, Gas Networks, Water, Energy & Utilities, and Asset Management. Reducing the carbon intensity of our gas networks will be fundamental for supporting intermittent renewable energy sources. Our Gas Networks design team are delivering projects in areas such as Biogas from Anaerobic Digestion, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen and Biomethane for grid injection and transport. Expertise in these areas will be key for the future as they provide unique and complex challenges that requires highly technical and specialised engineering solutions.

We are recruiting an Engineering Manager to join our Energy, Utilities and Renewables Projects team. The successful candidate will join an established business and have the opportunity as their career progresses to lead high‑value and high‑complexity projects. The Engineering Manager will have a client‑facing role.
Responsibilities- Client Relationship Management and Business Development – Maintaining and growing the business by managing existing workloads and winning new projects.
- Leading a team of engineers with responsibility for delivering projects, managing performance and developing competency.
- Project lead for Design & Contract management from conceptual phase through to project completion.
- Leading the project engineering team for the development of design calculations, drawings, specifications and design reports.
- Power Generation including CHP and Peaking Plants
- Renewables Energy such as biogas, biomass, solar and hydro
- Energy audits and design and implementation of energy saving initiatives
- Industrial utilities design including HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems
The Engineering Manager will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors across a wide range of projects. The location for this role will be in our Hemel Hempstead office, however we will also consider applications for our Dublin, Cork, and Galway offices.
Requirements- Engineering degree (Honours Bachelors Degree or higher) in Mechanical, Process, or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
- 10+ years post‑graduate and relevant design experience.
- CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Problem Solver with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Full driving licence and own transport required.
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
- Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
