Fingleton White provide multidiscipline engineering services for the energy industry. We provide a full range of design, construction and commissioning services and are active across many sectors including Renewables, Gas Networks, Water, Energy & Utilities, and Asset Management. The company is responsible for planning and development of some of the most significant projects in the energy sector in Ireland. We have 8 offices across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and England with over 200 staff.

We are delivering renewables projects, carbon reduction projects, energy efficiency upgrades and improvements for our clients. We understand that natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen all have a key role in transitioning to low carbon and achieving zero carbon. Reducing the carbon intensity of our gas networks will be fundamental for supporting intermittent renewable energy sources. Our Gas Networks design team are delivering projects in areas such as Biogas from Anaerobic Digestion, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen and Biomethane for grid injection and transport. Expertise in these areas will be key for the future as they provide unique and complex challenges that require highly technical and specialised engineering solutions.

The successful candidate will join an established business and have the opportunity as their career progresses to lead high value and high complexity projects. The Engineering Manager will have a client facing role. The responsibilities for the role are as follows:
- Client Relationship Management and Business Development - Maintaining and growing the business by managing existing workloads and winning new projects.
- Leading a team of engineers with responsibility for delivering projects, managing performance and developing competency.
- Project lead for Design & Contract management from conceptual phase through to project completion.
- Leading the project engineering team for the development of design calculations, drawings, specifications and design reports.
Typical projects will include: New Build AGI, PRI and Capacity Upgrades, Renewable Gas (Biogas, Biomethane and Hydrogen), Tx Pipelines and pipeline diversions, and Design of upgrade works across gas distribution networks. The Engineering Manager will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors across a wide range of projects. The location for this role will be in our Birmingham office.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Engineering degree (Bachelor Honours Degree or higher) in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
- 10+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience.
- CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience in the Gas Industry.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Problem Solver with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Full driving license and own transport required.
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
- Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
