Finest Stays is looking for a confident, organised and people-focused Summer Bookings Assistant to join our friendly team for the busy summer season. This is a brilliant role for someone home from university or looking for a summer job, who wants hands-on experience in hospitality, customer service and luxury holiday bookings. You’ll be supporting our bookings team during our busiest months, helping guests feel looked after from the moment they enquire through to their stay.
What you’ll be doing:
- Answering incoming phone calls from guests and potential guests
- Managing and responding to guest enquiries across multiple inboxes in a clear, friendly and “Finest Stays” tone
- Helping with booking enquiries, availability questions and local area information
- Supporting guests with practical questions around logistics, timings and property details
- Assisting the bookings team to make sure each stay is properly set up
- Making sure guests have the information they need before they arrive
- Updating bookings and guest details on our system
- Supporting the wider team with busy-period admin and cover
- Occasionally heading out and about for jobs such as dropping off property manuals
- Creating simple templates, notes or process improvements where useful
- Uploading reviews to our website
Who we’re looking for:
- The most important thing is that you’re genuinely good with people.
- You’ll need to be confident picking up the phone, speaking to different types of guests, and staying calm, helpful and professional — even when someone has lots of questions or is feeling frustrated.
- Previous customer-facing experience is required (e.g. hospitality, retail, reception, admin or similar; this is not a first job role)
- Comfortable managing multiple inboxes and keeping communication organised
- Good knowledge of the local area
- Based within 40 minutes of Kingsbridge
- Available for the full summer season (June–September)
You’ll be a great fit if you are:
- Confident and friendly on the phone
- Organised and reliable
- Punctual and committed
- Happy working in a busy, sociable team
- Comfortable using different systems and learning new tools
- Calm under pressure
- Proactive and willing to muck in
We’d love someone who is comfortable with tech and maybe a little AI-savvy – for example, someone who can help create useful templates, FAQs or simple tools the team can use going forward. But the priority is people skills. You need to be great with customers first.
Availability: This is ideally a full-time summer role from the beginning of June until the end of September. We would require you to work the following days of the week 9am-5pm with 30mins lunch break: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday and either Tuesday or Wednesday (your preference). We can also discuss working 4 days a week to still include Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. Holiday can be taken, but it must be booked in advance. We’ll ask you to be clear upfront about any dates you already know you’ll need off over the summer.
Location: 100% based in our Kingsbridge office. You will be paid £15 an hour.
How to apply: To apply, please follow the steps below:
