Potters Bar - Hertfordshire

Fantastic family friendly Hertfordshire based company are looking to recruit an experienced Service Charge Bookkeeper to join their team. Responsibilities
- Setting the yearly service charge budget for each block with assistance from the Property Managers
- Maintain income and expenditure ledger
- Dealing with leaseholders queries relating to the accounts & service charges
- Ensure all cheques received from lessees are promptly paid in on the due dates
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliations against the bank statements
- Dealing with annual accounts at year end, producing a balance sheet, complete accounts to trial balance
- Paying invoices relating to the works carried out on each block
- Check for arrears owing from leaseholders/tenants and pursue chasing or recovery action
- Generally, carry out or assist with general office duties as directed or appropriate
- Other Bookkeeping related duties as and when required
The company uses Blocks Online for all data entry and ledger sheets, there is also use of Excel for ad hoc statements/spreadsheets. Training will be given on how to use Blocks Online.
The ideal Service Charge Bookkeeper
- AAT Qualified to level 3 (desired, not essential) or qualified by experience
- Have worked in the Property Management Industry, dealing with the accounts for Service Charge Budgets - desired but not essential
- Experience in completing accounts to trial balance - essential
- A solid work history which shows longevity with previous companies - essential
- Resides in Hertfordshire or North London, must be local 30 mins to Potters Bar during rush hour traffic
- Happy to work in an office environment
- Good level of Excel experience, knowledge and use of formulas is essential
