HGV Driver

Vacancy: HGV Class 1 Driver (Construction / Plant Transport)

As a well-established construction and civil engineering company, we are actively seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team.

Location: Various sites predominantly across the South, East of England, and the Midlands

Pay: Above regional averages and negotiable depending on experience

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (subject to a 3-month probationary period)

About the Role

We\’re looking for a dependable and skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to support our construction operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting plant and heavy machinery safely between sites, ensuring timely deliveries in full compliance with UK driving, Health & Safety, and load security regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Transport and securely load/unload construction machinery and materials between sites.

Plan delivery routes and schedules efficiently, complying with UK driver hours and working time regulations.

Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete defect reports as required.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.

Proven experience transporting construction plant or heavy machinery (desirable).

Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail.

Flexibility to work on various projects, including nights, weekends, or occasional overnight stays, as required.
