FINE+RARE is a global, technology-driven marketplace redefining the fine wine and spirits industry. Our proprietary platform integrates e-commerce, portfolio management, and logistics to enhance customer engagement, optimise liquidity, and streamline transactions. Operating across the U.S., UK, Europe, and Asia, we combine data-led insights, deep industry relationships, and a multi-channel approach spanning account management, digital platforms, auctions, and events.

As one of the world's largest fine wine and spirits asset managers, overseeing $750m+ in client assets, we provide collectors and investors with unrivalled access to the world's rarest bottles and sophisticated portfolio solutions.

This role is focused on delivering a critical phase of Vinfolio's (our U.S. entity) data migration. The position is centred on resolving legacy data issues, stabilising core data structures, and ensuring customer portfolios, inventory, and transactions are accurate, complete, and operationally reliable.

The role is outcome-driven: establishing a data environment the business can trust and operate from, without reliance on legacy systems or manual reconciliation. Positioned between engineering and operations, this role works directly on real business problems rather than abstract data tasks. It requires a structured approach to untangling complex, inherited data issues and translating them into scalable, system-led solutions.

This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role where you'll work on real, business critical problems with clear outcomes and ownership from day one. This is a 6 months fixed-term contract, depending on delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the completion of Vinfolio's data migration, resolving outstanding issues across customer portfolios, inventory, and transactions.
  • Reconstruct and validate complex historical data, including broken transaction chains and misaligned holdings.
  • Ensure SAP and connected systems reflect a consistent, accurate, and operationally reliable data position.
  • Identify systemic data issues and implement scalable, repeatable solutions to reduce manual intervention.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines across SAP, CRM, catalogue, and reporting layers, ensuring reliable data flow and integrity.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, including validation, reconciliation, and issue tracking.
  • Support the transition away from legacy systems (e.g. NetSuite), removing reliance on manual reconciliation and fallback processes.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and customer teams to translate real-world issues into structured data solutions.
  • Document data structures, processes, and decisions to support ongoing scalability and business use.
What we're looking for
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to transform, analyse, and reconcile complex datasets.
  • Experience working with data pipelines and ETL processes across multiple systems.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and relational database structures.
  • Proven ability to work with incomplete, inconsistent, or legacy data environments.
  • A structured, analytical approach to solving complex data problems.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable data solutions.
  • Clear communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) or transactional platforms.
  • Exposure to data warehousing and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Experience supporting or delivering data migration projects.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar tools for data processing.
Additional expectations
  • Comfortable using AI tools to support analysis and problem-solving, while maintaining a strong grasp of underlying data logic.
  • Structured and delivery-focused, with a bias toward completion over open-ended exploration.
  • Able to operate in a changing environment where priorities are driven by business impact.
