Finegreen are supporting a large healthcare organisation in the appointment of a Health, Safety and Compliance professional. To undertake this position you will need an approved Occupational Health and Safety qualification with the National Examinations Board of Safety and Health (NEBOSH) or the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide health and safety advice, information and training to staff at all levels within the organisation.
- Assist with the developing and updating of policies, procedure notes and risk assessments; responsible for maintaining/updating health and safety processes, databases and internal systems.
- Ensure that the organisation follows general health and safety compliance with specialist health and safety requirements including the management of asbestos, COSHH, delivering of training packages, including bespoke tool box talks, inspections.
- Inform staff of any updates/changes to current legislation in this specialist area.
- As part of the wider team, ensure the organisation meets its statutory legal duties and maintains compliance throughout its services and operations.
- Ensure that all risk assessments are up to date; with action plans and remedial actions in place and reviewed.
- Plan and organise training and update sessions to ensure training is relevant and up to date.
- Support the planning and implementation of the Health and Safety strategy to ensure that the COSHH, asbestos, and specialist aspects of the estate functions are in place and maintained to specified standards.
- Consistently manage and review safe working practices and procedures; further develop and maintain the department's procedures/policies/risk assessment and safe systems of work at all times to ensure the organisation is exposed to minimum risk in relation to its services.
Ideal Candidate:
- Currently hold an approved Occupational Health and Safety qualification with the National Examinations Board of Safety and Health (NEBOSH) or the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage in-house training.
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and all associated legislation.
- Able to produce clear and concise written reports.
- Able to prepare and deliver presentations and communicate effectively within this environment.
