We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Team Manager to join our dedicated Leaving Care Team. For this role you will need a recognised social work qualification (B.A. Hons, DipSW, CQSW) and registration with Social Work England (or be working towards it). This role involves leading a team of support workers and ensuring young people receive high-quality support plans and timely support tailored to their needs. The service currently delivers support for over 120 Care Leavers and is looking to significantly expand to cover more locations around London. The role is office based with WFH options negotiable.
As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing service delivery, and working closely with the service manager to enhance outcomes for care-experienced young people. The role will require initiative and a desire to produce the best outcomes for our service users. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that team objectives are met while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
The Role
- Assisting to manage a team to ensure effective service delivery, staff supervision, and training.
- Daily supervision alongside line manager for floating LC Team.
- Managing allocated weekly LC Hours (450-500 hours per week).
- Case allocation, using supervision and a knowledge of data analysis to improve outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, local policies, and best practices in care and safeguarding.
- Monitoring and improving service quality through audits, performance indicators, and team evaluations.
- Addressing complaints and service concerns promptly.
- Working with the service manager to drive continuous service improvement.
About You
- A recognised social work qualification (B.A. Hons, DipSW, CQSW) and registration with Social Work England (or be working towards it).
- Experience managing a team within a children’s services or social care setting.
- A strong understanding of statutory responsibilities related to care-experienced young people.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.
- The ability to collaborate with external professionals to provide holistic support for young people.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Good ICT skills to manage reports, audits, and performance monitoring.
