Role Summary:
- As Business Development Manager, you will drive Finecast Foundry’s commercial growth by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and securing long-term partnerships with existing and new customers.
- Working closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, you will secure new business and shape the long-term Commercial strategy of the Company.
- Developing, implementing and evolving business development strategies to achieve set targets.
- Monitoring industry sectors, technology and metallic product requirements to identify supply opportunities.
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Nurturing and growing relationships with customers, engineering teams, procurement and senior stakeholders.
- Identifying and introducing our Company full capabilities not only relating to supply of castings, but wider engineering competences including CNC machining from solid, Mechanical Assembly, Non-Destructive Testing and Metallurgical Analysis and Testing Services.
- Managing negotiations, securing contracts and ensuring a smooth handover into engineering and operations.
- Supporting bid development and commercial proposals in collaboration with technical and quality teams.
- Working closely with our marketing team to establish and communicate a clear strategy, aligned to our manufacturing capabilities, technical expertise, and core competencies, to drive awareness and sales within targeted industry sectors.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and instruction to the wider commercial and business teams, resulting in securing contracts and onboarding customer accounts.
- Working closely with engineering, operations, finance and quality to ensure a coordinated approach to onboarding and account retention.
About You:
You are an experienced business development or technical sales professional who understands complex engineered components and the needs of high-specification, regulated industries. You’ll be motivated by the opportunity to deliver ambitious business growth, product and market diversification.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in business development, sales position within Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, or similar precision-engineered sectors preferably working as a Tier 1 or 2 supplier.
- A track record of securing high-value contracts and developing accounts to build significant growth.
- Strong negotiation, communication and account management skills.
- The ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into commercially viable solutions.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and data-driven reporting.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK and Europe and to be regularly present on-site at the Company.
