Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Derby team, providing Warehouse and administrative support across our Derby and Fine Group Operations. The Warehouse Assistant supports the logistics department with all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and stock control. In addition, the Warehouse Assistant is expected to support the logistics lead by assisting with tasks during periods of high demand or as required. The role also covers day-to-day responsibility for the fulfilment of our online B2C order processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Dispatch Support
- Assist with receiving goods and materials, verifying deliveries, and storing items appropriately.
- Support order dispatch including picking, packing, labelling, and preparing goods for shipment.
- Order Fulfilment
- Pick and pack orders for both eCommerce (B2C) and wholesale/retail (B2B) channels with a high level of accuracy and care.
- Ensure products are packed according to quality and presentation standards.
- Inventory & Consumables
- Assist with regular stock counts, inventory management, and tracking of consumables.
- Replenish packaging supplies and notify the Logistics Manager of low stock levels or shortages.
- General Warehouse Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised warehouse environment.
- Operate manual handling equipment safely and according to company procedures.
- Follow all warehouse policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Communication & Teamwork
- Collaborate closely with the Logistics Lead and Derby Site Lead to ensure operational priorities are met.
- Communicate effectively and report any issues, delays, or hazards.
- Contribute to a cooperative and productive work environment across both the warehouse and the Derby site.
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- IT skills for inventory tracking and business systems input
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Physically capable of manual handling and production work
- Proactive, reliable, and able to follow instructions
Desirable
- Forklift license or willingness to train (preferred)
- Working knowledge of NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
