High School Math & Science Tutor (Part-Time, In-Person)

Oxford Learning Halifax is seeking a motivated and reliable part-time Math & Science Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with high school students (Grades 9-12), helping them strengthen both subject knowledge and learning skills in a supportive, structured environment.
This is an in-person position at our Halifax (Quinpool Road) location.
What You'll Do
- Teach up to 3 students at a time using Oxford Learning's proven methodologies
- Provide individualized support in subjects such as algebra, advanced functions, trigonometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology
- Track student progress and complete brief post-lesson notes
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and focused learning environment
- Build rapport with students while maintaining a professional and structured approach
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in a relevant field (Math, Science, Engineering, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of the high school math and/or science curriculum
- Experience tutoring, teaching or coaching
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Reliable availability for 2-3 evenings per week (4:00-7:00 pm or 4:00-8:30 pm)
- Ability to commute to our Halifax location
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
Nice to Have
- Ability to teach multiple subjects (e.g., both math and science)
- Experience working with different learning styles or students who need extra support
- Long-term availability (school year commitment or longer)

Salary / Compensation
- $19.00 - $22.00 / hour to start based on experience
