British Newspaper Archive, part of DC Thomson media and publishing company, is recruiting for an experienced Partnerships Manager with a focus on membership and heritage organisations to join our team in our London office on a 12‑month fixed term basis. The Partnerships Manager accelerates subscriber growth and sustainable revenue across British Newspaper Archive and FindMyPast by unlocking new commercial value through strategic partnerships with membership and heritage organisations.
They are accountable for building a scalable, repeatable partnerships channel that drives measurable commercial outcomes—acquisition, engagement and retention—while expanding market reach across underpenetrated membership ecosystems. This role brings a disciplined, data‑led and commercially focused approach to partnership development, ensuring that opportunities are prioritised based on value creation, aligned to strategic growth priorities, and executed in a way that strengthens long‑term market position and customer lifetime value.

Key Responsibilities- Partnerships Strategy & Pipeline Growth: Develop and execute a global partnerships strategy that identifies, prioritises and converts high‑value membership organisations into a robust, qualified pipeline delivering sustained subscriber and revenue growth.
- Commercial Deal Structuring & Conversion: Lead the structuring and negotiation of partnership agreements that deliver clear commercial value, balancing partner needs with measurable business outcomes.
- Partnership Activation & Performance Optimisation: Drive successful launch and ongoing optimisation of partnerships through coordinated execution with marketing, product and data teams.
- Revenue Growth & Portfolio Expansion: Maximise value from existing partnerships through upsell, renewal, and expansion into new segments, geographies and propositions.
- Data‑Led Decision Making & Insight: Leverage data and analytics to evaluate partnership performance, inform prioritisation, and continuously refine strategy and execution.
- Scalable Models, Innovation & Capability Building: Develop repeatable partnership models, incorporating digital enablement, automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and scale.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management – Builds and manages strategic relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders. Influences senior decision‑makers, aligns objectives and ensures mutual value creation across complex partnership ecosystems.
- Strategic Planning – Develops and executes partnership strategies aligned to business goals. Translates market opportunities into actionable plans and prioritised pipelines with clear commercial outcomes.
- Data Analysis – Applies advanced data analysis to evaluate performance, identify opportunities and optimise partnership effectiveness. Uses data to drive decision‑making, forecasting and ROI assessment.
- Emerging Technology Monitoring – Identifies and applies relevant technologies (including automation, AI‑enabled marketing and data tools) to improve partnership scalability, targeting and performance.
