Purchasing / Buying Manager (Wholesale / Amazon)

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established international e-commerce and wholesale business with the recruitment of a Purchasing / Buying Manager.

Permanent, full-time position based in St Helier, Jersey, with relocation support available for the right candidate.

Salary

£55,000 – £70,000, depending on experience + additional benefits

This is a senior commercial buying role with responsibility for the full product range, supplier strategy, pricing, stock availability and margin performance across a multi-market Amazon and e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the product range from sourcing through to ongoing performance.
• Identify and evaluate new products and commercial opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and exclusivity agreements with suppliers across the UK, Europe and Asia.
• Manage supplier relationships and attend relevant trade shows and supplier meetings.
• Set and review pricing across product lines.
• Monitor gross profit, margin, stock availability and slow-moving stock.
• Make clear commercial decisions on which products to introduce, retain or discontinue.
• Work closely with Finance on purchasing budgets, stock levels and cash flow.
• Lead and develop a small buying team.
• Allocate categories and supplier responsibilities across the team.
• Review and approve buying proposals.
• Report directly to the CEO on pipeline, stock and margin performance.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Buying Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer or similar.
• Background within wholesale, distribution, retail or e-commerce.
• Strong supplier negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.
• Proven experience managing product ranges, stock and margins.
• Strong numerical ability and confidence analysing landed cost, stock turn and profitability.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of commercial decisions.
• Experience leading or developing a buying team would be advantageous.
• Amazon marketplace experience would be highly desirable, particularly Seller Central, FBA, listings or marketplace pricing.
• Alternatively, strong traditional buying experience is equally welcome.
• Experience sourcing from overseas suppliers would be beneficial.
• Confident using modern systems, analytics and AI-enabled tools.
