Job Description
FindCore are thrilled to be assisting a leading precision engineering manufacturer with the recruitment of a Quality Manager.
Permanent position. This role will be based in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will take a key role within the quality function, supporting inspection activities across high-tolerance CNC machined components for sectors including aerospace, defence, electronics, medical and general engineering.
Salary
£40,000 – £60,000, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision CNC machined components.
- Operate and programme CMM equipment, alongside conventional measuring instruments.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and tight dimensional tolerances.
- Produce First Article Inspection Reports and support customer inspection visits.
- Raise, investigate and resolve Non-Conformance Reports and support CAPA activity.
- Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why or Ishikawa methodologies.
- Manage calibration requirements and ensure measuring equipment remains compliant.
- Review material certifications, certificates of conformity and traceability documentation.
- Support internal and external ISO 9001 audits.
- Contribute to quality planning, continuous improvement and process development.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior inspection team members.
Skills & Experience
- Around 5+ years’ experience within quality inspection in a precision CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
- Strong hands-on experience using CMM equipment.
- Confident reading engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, satellite or medical manufacturing would be advantageous.
