Permanent, full-time position based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Salary
From £50,000 basic salary, negotiable depending on experience + uncapped commission
This is a senior commercial opportunity for an experienced food industry sales professional to take ownership of sales growth, develop key customer relationships and lead the sales function within a fast-moving food wholesale business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and develop the sales team
- Drive new business and overall revenue growth
- Manage and grow key customer accounts
- Build strong relationships across the foodservice and wholesale sectors
- Identify new markets and commercial opportunities
- Develop and deliver the company's sales strategy
- Set and manage sales targets, KPIs and performance
- Generate new business and convert opportunities into long-term customers
- Use market insight and sales data to support commercial decisions
- Work closely with senior management to support the company's continued growth
Skills & Experience
- Strong previous experience within food sales is essential
- Background within food wholesale, foodservice or a closely related sector
- Proven track record of delivering sales growth
- Experience leading and motivating a sales team
- Strong new-business development and account-management skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation ability
- Confident developing relationships with customers across the food sector
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to sales
- Target-driven and focused on sustainable, profitable growth
