Seacoast Safaris is an established boat tour operator based in Beaumaris, Anglesey. We pride ourselves in delivering amazing wildlife-filled boat tours from a friendly and knowledgeable team.

We are looking for a skipper to join the team on an annualised hours contract, working five to six days per week during the summer and three to four days per week in the low season.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum commercially endorsed Advanced Powerboat or equivalent
  • Experience operating boats commercially
  • Friendly and engaging nature and a team player
  • Interest in wildlife, the environment and sustainability
  • Ability and willingness to deliver informative commentary, both face to face or over a PA system
  • Mechanical maintenance experience (preferably on marine diesel engines)
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Boat Masters Licence, or experience and willingness to work towards it if not currently held
  • LKE for Menai Strait
  • Maintenance and repairs experience on GRP vessels
  • RYA instructor qualifications

You will be expected to work flexibly around the needs of the business. The contract is based on annualised hours, meaning longer weeks and hours during the main season, especially during school holidays, notably over the May half term and the six‑week summer holidays. You will be expected to take the majority of your annual leave during the closed season (November to March), when you will also be required to work fewer days and shorter hours.

Working weeks (examples):

  • 3 days per week during November, December, January and February
  • 4 days per week during March and October
  • 5 days per week during April and September
  • 5 to 6 days per week during May, June, July and August

You will be expected to work weekends and bank holidays. Start and finish times will vary based on business needs and customer demand.

Employment Details

  • Full‑time annualised hours contract (4/5 full time)
  • Full‑time annual leave entitlement of 30 days, pro rata to 24 days
  • Salary: full‑time £35,000 pro rata to £28,000 per annum for BML skipper, or up to 12 passengers full‑time salary £31,000 pro rata to £24,800
  • Position available with immediate start
