The Role
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, ensuring pupils receive tailored, high-quality support that enables them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
- Support and train staff in effective SEND strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching practices
- Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, adapting provision where required
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes for pupils
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- SENDCo qualification or willingness to undertake the accreditation
- Experience coordinating SEND provision within a complex educational setting
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
- Ability to lead and support staff effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
