Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Support and train staff in effective SEND strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching practices
  • Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, adapting provision where required
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes for pupils
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SENDCo qualification or willingness to undertake the accreditation
  • Experience coordinating SEND provision within a complex educational setting
