Job Description

Lead Nurse – RMN or RNLD Mental Health Hospital Location: Southwest LondonType: Full-time | Permanent£50,375-£56,329 Overview: An established mental health hospital in southwest London is seeking experienced RMNs or RNLDs for a newly introduced Lead Nurse role. This is an opportunity to progress clinically while staying patient-focused.About the Hospital:
  • Registered private hospital known for high-quality mental health and addiction care
  • Offers treatment for depression, anxiety, substance misuse, eating disorders, and behavioural addictions
  • Dedicated inpatient services for young people across two specialist wards
  • Provides private autism assessments for children
  • Multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and nurses

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical care needs across the ward
  • Support nurses, HCAs, and MDTs in delivering tailored care plans
  • Promote best practice in nursing assessments, medication management, and clinical risk planning
  • Lead on quality improvement, least restrictive practice, and therapeutic models
  • Support a positive, person-centred team culture
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development

About You:

  • NMC-registered RMN or RNLD
  • At least 3 years' experience in relevant inpatient mental health or learning disability settings
  • Trained in or willing to develop skills in DBT, CBT, or similar therapeutic models
  • Confident clinical leader with a track record of service development
  • Skilled communicator with an adaptable and supportive approach
