The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to move into (or continue within) a quality-focused position where you’ll have real influence over standards, delivery, and outcomes across an electrical apprenticeship provision. You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality, supporting delivery staff, and ensuring apprentices receive a consistently high standard of training and assessment.
About the Role
As an Electrical IQA / Internal Verifier / Quality Assurance Officer, you’ll oversee the quality of apprenticeship delivery across your region. This role goes beyond compliance, you’ll act as a coach, mentor and subject matter expert, supporting assessors and trainers to continuously improve.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality assure the work of Electrical Assessors and Trainers
- Sample learner portfolios and assessment decisions to ensure consistency and compliance
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and development support to staff
- Support standardisation across teams to maintain high-quality delivery
- Produce clear reports, action plans, and follow-up on improvements
- Prepare for and support external audits (Awarding Organisations, EPAOs, Ofsted)
- Monitor trends in delivery and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records of IQA activity and sampling
- Embed safeguarding, Prevent, equality & diversity, and health & safety into quality processes
- Keep up to date with industry standards, frameworks, and best practice

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent)
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33) – essential
- Strong occupational competency within the electrical industry
- Experience assessing apprentices (NVQ / apprenticeship standards)
- Good understanding of quality and compliance within apprenticeships
- Strong communication, organisation, and coaching skills
Desirable:
- IQA qualification (V1, D34, or equivalent)
- Experience in an IQA / Internal Verification role
- Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, or equivalent)
- IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
- Experience with e-portfolio systems and quality processes
