What you’ll do
You’ll be responsible for all aspects of ground maintenance for your local council.
A typical day might include:
- General gardening, maintenance and horticultural duties as required at sites across your borough.
- Routine maintenance of the council’s cycle route network using hand tools or mechanical equipment.
- Assisting in minor landscaping tasks such as planting beds and pruning trees.
- Cleaning hard surfaces, trimming hedges and cutting grass.
Who you are
An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you love working as part of a team. You’re comfortable being outside in all weathers with a can-do attitude.
Ideally you’ll have:
- Demonstrable experience in commercial or public grounds maintenance or general skills that can be applied to the role.
- Full driving licence to at least category B for manual transmission vehicles.
- Confidence and physical abilities to operate heavy equipment.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and risks associated.
- Good level of physical fitness and aptitude for outdoor work in all seasons.
