Business Development Consultant for a Hygiene Facilities Company

Location: Central Midlands, United Kingdom

1 day in the Bromsgrove Office, the other 4 days in field sales around the following postcodes: B, WR, WV, CV, WS, DY, ST, CW, LE, CV, NG and DE

£28,500 Starting Salary

£40k - £50k OTE

Potential remuneration in this role is very generous, including a starting salary of £28,500 with a performance review after successfully completing a 6-month probationary period, a commission scheme paid from £1 of all sales with an OTE of £40-£50k. There is also a comprehensive benefits package which includes:

The Role

The Business Development Consultant's role is crucial to the company's growth and success. These individuals play a key role in driving business expansion, increasing revenue, and extending the reach of their products and services. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including:

  • Proactively identifying and engaging with potential new customers through strategic cold calling and information gathering, with the ultimate goal of securing meetings with key decision makers.
  • Nurturing and strengthening relationships with existing clients to drive growth within the current accounts, foster long-term partnerships, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Crafting and presenting compelling quotes and proposals for prospective clients, showcasing their offerings' unique value and benefits.
  • Developing and forecasting sales targets to drive strategic growth and ensure the achievement of business objectives.
  • Providing regular reports on quote and sales statistics at the end of each week, allowing the option of tracking progress, identifying trends, and making informed business decisions.

It is important to recognise the scope of potential in this role as everywhere you go will present enormous opportunity, be that walking past shops down a High Street, driving past a hotel, entering an industrial or office estate, passing a school or medical facility - all of these and many, many more are your prospects and potential clients.

You will need to demonstrate an enquiring mind, outstanding negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to ultimately ask for the business.

The working day primarily starts and finishes at your home address with anticipation that you will be on the road four days of each week visiting prospects and existing clients. During the fifth working day, ideally working from our Bromsgrove office, you will be making structured appointments with key decision makers for visits during the following week/weeks.

Depending on the successful candidate's home postcode, we are looking for candidates to cover some of the following postcodes but not all: B, WR, WV, CV, WS, DY, ST, CW, LE, CV, NG and DE.
