We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Gateshead. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare VAT returns and support HMRC submissions
- Assist with payroll processing
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Support year-end accounts and liaise with accountants
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
