Are you an experienced engineer looking to move into training, or an existing trainer/assessor looking for a coaching-focused role?

We’re working with a leading engineering training organisation looking for an Engineering Skills Coach covering Wakefield and the surrounding area.

No previous teaching or assessing experience is required. Industry candidates are encouraged to apply, with support provided to gain the relevant assessor qualification.

The role:

  • Manage a caseload of around 45–55 engineering apprentices
  • Coach across MOET, Engineering Fitting, Mechatronics and Mechanical Maintenance standards
  • Support portfolio building and evidence gathering
  • Carry out learner progress reviews and workplace assessments
  • Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment
  • Work closely with employers and manage your own diary

Package:

  • £38,000 – £42,000
  • 36-hour week, Monday to Friday

  • Typically 2–3 days per week visiting apprentices/employers
  • 55p per mile, paid door-to-door
  • Travel generally within 30–40 miles of Wakefield
