Are you a hands-on automotive expert with a passion for teaching, developing, and inspiring others? We are seeking a Technical Training Specialist who can combine deep technical knowledge with strong training and project development skills.
This is a 50/50 role, balancing practical training delivery with technical course development. You will be the go-to person for high-level technical projects and also ensure the training programmes are engaging, up-to-date and effective.
Key Responsibilities- Training Delivery: Deliver practical and theoretical technical training sessions to Technician, Senior, and Master-level staff. Conduct assessments to ensure learning objectives are met and standards maintained. Provide cover for training sessions as required, including regional delivery or special projects. Act as a point of contact for external training requests, including support for specialist initiatives. Maintain strong communication with teams, ensuring updates and technical information are clearly shared.
- Course Development & Project Management: Design, write, and continuously improve technical courses to ensure content is current and relevant. Lead projects independently, from concept through to implementation, including international or emergency services projects. Ensure courses are structured for effective learning and maintain all certification and compliance requirements. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain course materials, ensuring high-quality delivery across the network. Monitor industry developments to ensure training programmes reflect the latest technologies and processes.
- Collaboration & Administration: Work closely with line managers, assessors, and delivery teams to coordinate training schedules. Support accreditation processes and ensure delegates receive accurate certification. Assist with administrative tasks including reporting, scheduling, and communications. Collaborate with colleagues to cover training sessions during absences or holidays. Uphold health and safety standards in all training activities and course designs.
- Master-level automotive technician with proven hands-on experience in the sector.
- Experience in technical training delivery or the potential to quickly transition into a trainer role.
- Strong project management skills, able to take ownership of initiatives from start to finish.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ideally Adobe InDesign.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and solution-focused, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating others and managing multiple stakeholders.
