The focus is on building competence, confidence, and capability through coaching, mentoring, and practical skills delivery.
This role will suit someone who has spent a number of years working in a high-hazard, high-standard engineering environment and is now looking to pass that experience on in a structured training setting.

- Support apprentices through their full programme
- Break down complex engineering knowledge into practical learning
- Help learners build confidence, competence, and professional behaviours
- Assess competence and track progress
- Monitor apprentice development against apprenticeship standards
- Carry out regular progress reviews with learners and employers
- Support preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Maintain safety and compliance
- Ensure all training activity meets strict health, safety, and quality standards
- Promote safe working practices at all times
What you'll need (essential)
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled)
- Strong hands-on background in industry
- Experience working in a structured, safety-critical or regulated environment
- Natural ability to coach, mentor or support others (formal or informal experience is fine)
- Willingness to work towards:
- Assessor qualification (A1 / CAVA or equivalent)
- Teaching qualification (if not already held)
Desirable experience
- Background in nuclear, defence, power generation or heavy industry
- Experience supporting or training apprentices or junior engineers
- Good understanding of health & safety and RAMS
- Exposure to quality assurance or internal auditing
- Teaching or training qualifications (e.g. PTLLS / Level 3 Education & Training)
- Higher-level engineering qualification (Level 4+)

- The people who do well in this role usually:
- Have solid "been there and done it" engineering experience
- Can explain technical problems in a simple, practical way
- Naturally support and develop others on the job
- Have a strong understanding of safety and standards
- Are looking for a long-term move into training and development
Why move into this role
- This is an opportunity to:
- Step away from shift patterns or hands-on site work
