FIND are delighted to be recruiting for a Construction Instructor/Tutor on behalf of a Norwich based alternative vocational education provider. Established in 1965, our client provides young people with opportunities in Construction, Mechanics, Catering & Hospitality, Health & Social Care and Hair & Beauty. They take pride in offering a diverse range of training courses for students at both pre-16 and post-16.

This is an ideal opportunity for both experienced construction tutors or individuals with recent construction experience looking to move into the Education and Training sector.

Key purpose
  • To support in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning across Multi-Skilled Construction courses.
  • To work closely with students with an Educational Health Care Plan and additional needs to support them with written work, building self-confidence and life skills, supporting with challenging behaviour and helping students to regulate their regulation.
  • To support all students in achieving their potential by taking a pro-active, enthusiastic and flexible approach.
Core responsibilities
  • Delivery of teaching and learning in your vocational area.
  • Development of resources, teaching materials, schemes of work and lesson plans for all lessons as per your timetable.
  • To support students during lessons, ensuring they are fully engaged and making progress.
  • To support the planning for new courses and activities at the centre and externally.
  • To support the students to find creative ways to achieve learning across the levels for individuals (especially those with additional needs).
  • The planning and preparing of all learning activities.
  • To support students in community projects to promote engagement and work experience.
  • Maintaining registers, tracking progress and providing feedback to both students, staff and student schools.
  • Keep all behaviour notes and student records updated.
  • To positively engage with all students including those that display challenging behaviours, enabling students to be treated as individuals in a person-centred manner.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and resources for the purposes of teaching and learning.
We are looking for
  • A minimum of 2 years Construction experience.
  • Level 2 Construction qualification or equivalent/higher.
