The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Business Coach to join a growing Service Delivery team. This role focuses on the coaching, development, and assessment of apprentices working towards ICT Level 3 Apprenticeship Standards. You will support apprentices throughout their full learner journey, working closely with employers to plan delivery, track progress, and prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA). The role is predominantly one-to-one coaching, delivered remotely, with occasional site visits where required. You will collaborate with fellow coaches, Quality, IQA, Compliance, and Sales teams to ensure high standards of delivery, learner satisfaction, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and support apprentices against ICT apprenticeship standards (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours)
- Plan and review apprenticeship programmes with employers and learners
- Track progress and record activity using an e-portfolio system
- Prepare learners for EPA (interview and practical elements)
- Provide high-quality feedback aligned to Ofsted and ESFA requirements
- Embed Maths, English, Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health & Safety into delivery
- Identify and resolve barriers to learner progress
- Maintain accurate reporting and compliance documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice sharing
Technical Areas Covered
You will coach learners across areas including:
- ICT technical support and troubleshooting
- Security policies and best practice
- Hardware, software, and systems testing
- Stakeholder communication and escalation
- Documentation, audit trails, and incident management
- Continuous professional development within IT
(Full coverage is desirable; support and upskilling are available where required.)
Candidate Profile
You will be:
- An experienced IT professional with a passion for developing others
- A confident communicator, able to build rapport with learners and employers
- Organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing a remote caseload
- Motivated, learner-focused, and quality-driven
Essential Requirements
- Teaching / Assessing: PGCE, CertEd, QTS, or Level 4 Teaching Qualification OR Level 3 Teaching Qualification and Level 3 Assessor Qualification
- Maths & English: Level 2 (or equivalent) in both Maths and English
- Technical Competence (one of the following): Degree (or higher) in a relevant IT subject, Minimum 2 years’ industry experience with appropriate technical qualifications (e.g. ECTA), A qualification above the level being delivered, plus supporting technical certifications
- IAG: Level 3 IAG qualification (or willingness to work towards within 6 months)
